A little about Higher Ground
Australia for those who have come across this page first
We
were formerly known
as
Higher Ground-The Australian Friends of
John Denver
there have been a few changes hence the new name
There are no joining or membership fees,
All we ask is that when you donate to your favorite
charity you do make it in memory of John Denver.
We have yearly gatherings to celebrate John's life, his Causes
and the many ways we CAN make a difference.
Higher Ground Australia is a
non-profit organisation dedicated to
the memory of the late John Denver.
Each October we meet in a different state of Australia to
celebrate the life and music of John Denver,
raising money to donate to eagle rehabilitation facilities
within Australia in John’s memory.We have been doing this since
October 2001 our first gathering was in the beautiful Grampian
Mountains
in Victoria. HGA also promotes worthy activities relating to
conservation and the environment.
The thing we are here for is to let everyone
know what is happening in Australia to keep John &
his causes alive John might be gone from this earth but he is still
with us.
We would love for some more overseas JD members as well. :-)
There are alot of great singer songwriters out there that have written some lovely tribute song for John.
